As I work on myself and focus on my impact at New Tech, one thing that I am passionate about is spreading the joy of tennis to others. I believe that by helping others learn tennis, not only am I helping them develop a new skill, but I am also teaching them the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship. In addition, by constantly striving to help my teammates get better, I am not only improving their skills on the court but also building a stronger bond with them off of the court.
One of the most rewarding aspects of my passion for tennis is the experience that it gives me. When kids come to New Tech, they are often intimidated by the idea of having to shuttle for sports. I have spoken with incoming freshmen about my shuttle experience and have reassured them that it is not as bad as they may think. I found that many kids choose to attend our school because of the opportunities for sports and extra-curricular activities, so I believe it is important to make sure they feel comfortable and excited to participate in these activities. Shuttling is a very manageable and enjoyable part of an athletic 5, and should never interfere with someone’s passion.

By bringing the joy from the tennis court into the classroom, I hope to inspire others to be passionate about the things they love and to always strive to make a positive impact on those around them. I believe that by working together and supporting one another, we can create a strong and supportive community both on and off the court. Ultimately, my goal is to continue spreading joy and positivity through tennis and to inspire others to do the same.
In conclusion, spreading the joy of tennis to others is a passion of mine that brings me immense fulfillment. Not only does it allow me to help others develop new skills and learn important values such as teamwork and sportsmanship, but it also provides me with enriching experiences and serves as a source of motivation for my own personal growth. I am grateful for the opportunity to make a positive impact through tennis, and I look forward to continuing to motivate others!
One of the most frustrating experiences I have had at the community garden was when the trash bag tore while I was trying to shovel it in. It was a messy ordeal that required extra cleanup and wasted precious time that could have been spent tending to the plants. At another volunteer event at Feed My Starving Children, the packers took the bag too early before we could put all the ingredients in, causing a lot of confusion and delays. This mix-up not only disrupted the flow of our work but also hindered our ability to efficiently pack meals for those in need. In both instances, the mishaps served as valuable learning experiences, highlighting the importance of clear communication, teamwork, and adaptability in volunteer situations.
