New Tech has plenty of clubs to offer for people with all different types of interests. Let’s dive deeper into some of New Tech’s top clubs!
Aquarium Club: The Aquarium Club is here for everyone to learn about aquariums and build one together. Come join us every Flex Friday at 1:40 in Mr. Harris’ room to be a part of the community!
First Tech Challenge Robotics: FTC is a club where people get together to brainstorm, build, and program a robot based on a challenge that the First organization gives us, we are structured in 3 “pathways”, Engineering, Programming, and Marketing. The engineers are in charge of brainstorming, designing, and building the robot, while the programmers are in charge of programming it, finally, the marketers are in charge of outreach and our portfolio. Outreaches are things such as fundraisers, recruitment, and events overall, while the portfolio is a big digital notebook where we detail what we did throughout the season and how we did it. We are also an almost completely student-led organization, which means that all of the fundraisers, events, and sponsors are organized by students. An example of this is the Chipotle fundraiser, where we as a club went to have dinner at Chipotle and a percent of the money went back to the club. We also organized a summer camp with CEF to teach elementary school kids about programming and engineering and, on another occasion, we helped run a competition in an elementary school, where the kids showed off what they learned in their classes.
Supercell Club: The SuperCell Club is a vibrant and inclusive community gathering center aimed at uniting individuals through the joy of playing SuperCell games. With a simple and clear objective, this club serves as a hub for local players and enthusiasts to engage in friendly competitions and create long-lasting friendships. The club fosters an inviting environment where beginners and experienced players alike can share their passion for SuperCell games, including popular titles like Clash of Clans, Clash Royale, and Brawl Stars. Joining to the club offers access to an array of exciting activities designed to encourage interaction among players of all ages. Casual game sessions provide an opportunity for members to unwind and socialize, while tournaments and leagues sessions are meant for those seeking a more competitive experience.
